GM-17 “Viper” turboprop multy purpose aircraft was created by considerable modification of well known American made Piper PA-31P aircraft by request of a Swiss company INTRACOM GENERAL MACHINERY. The aircraft is produced by Smolensk aircraft plant. Two Lycoming engines of 425 hp were removed from the wings and one turboprop Walter M 601E of 750 hp engine was installed in the nose section of the fuselage. New navigational, hydraulic, heating and cabin pressuring systems were installed as well as a new fire alarm, oil, electrical and landing gear systems. Successful modification made reduced empty weight of the aircraft for more than 400 kg that improved its performance and commercial characteristics. GM-17 “Viper” aircraft can perform 6-7 passengers or cargo transportation (1200kg) with maximum range up to 2500 km, speed 430km/h, altitude of flight up to 7500 m, day or night time in normal and complex weather conditions. One or two pilots form a crew of the aircraft. GM-17 “Viper” is equipped with mini bar, toilet, has satellite telephone and fax connection and provides all the necessary conveniences for work and leisure. Using Piper PA-31 fuselage we have created a modern, highly competitive in Russian, European and other countries` market turboprop aircraft with high performance characteristics and low flight hour cost. |
